WELCOME to the website of the bi-monthly modern traction magazine Modern Locomotives Illustrated, dedicated to recording the development, operation and disposal of the UK diesel and electric fleets. First published in June 2008, MLI will over a 10 year period cover all modern traction classes of locomotive and multiple unit trains. Special editions are also planned on modern traction depots, coaches and departmental stock. It is with regret that we have had to increase our cover price from issue No. 195 to £4.50 per issue, this is to offset increases in production costs. However this is the first price rise since issue No. 178 in August 2009. Since then our pagination has increased to 100 pages per issue.
With huge increases in overseas post prices, we have had to increase both European and Rest of the World prices by a larger amount, to off-set this increase we are now offering Rest of the World customers the option of air of surface transport.
